Professional Summary

 

  • Spanning a period of three decades devoted to public hospital medicine and dentistry across two continents, I have gained a broad perspective on healthcare across the globe. 

  • Combining a career of clinical service provision with clinically relevant research I have attracted over half a million Australian dollars in grant support for investigator initiated research over the last 10 years.

  • Representing the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA) through my capacity as executive member of the Australian Liver Faculty and now a Board member, I am directly involved with specialist guideline development, political engagement and consultation with government departments including MSAC and PBS.

  • I am a key national collaborator and coordinator of multicenter projects (CATCH and REV1TAL projects), and have designed, constructed and maintained databases and reporting systems to facilitate clinical research.

  • With a record of establishing a hepatology and hepatocellular carcinoma clinical service across a multisite public health service, I demonstrate the effective leadership and organizational skills required to coordinate a high quality, innovative and financially self-sufficient clinical service.

  • Experienced convener of liver cancer multidisciplinary meetings, lead for departmental clinical governance including endoscopy audits and mortality & morbidity meetings.
