Temporary MBS Telehealth remain available for patients vulnerable to COVID-19. These include those:

  • required to self-isolate or self-quarantine in accordance with guidance issued by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee in relation to COVID-19; or

  • at least 70 years old; or

  • if the person identifies as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and is at least 50 years old; or

  • is pregnant; or

  • is the parent of a child aged under 12 months; or

  • is being treated for a chronic health condition; or

  • is immune compromised; or

  • meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-19 infection.

In those that do not fulfil these criteria you can still access Private face-to-face (F2F) and Private Video-based Telehealth (VBT) consultations (see below).​

Video-Based Telehealth (eligibility above):

  • Initial consultations are categorised as either Long or Short based on the complexity of medical issues.

  • Review consultation similarly categorised as Long or Short.

  • Eligible patients for MBS Telehealth have no out of pocket expense

  • Patients ineligible for MBS Telehealth may opt for Private F2F or VBT consultations.

Private Video-based Telehealth (VBT):

  • For patients that are ineligible for MBS Telehealth

  • Allows virtual consultation in the comfort of your own surroundings

  • May require subsequent physical examination or additional non-invasive tests

  • Private fees apply including cancellation fees

  • Fees based on complexity of medical issues
